Seats located in the front of the bus are reserved for the
elderly and/or physically disabled riders. Please vacate upon
request.
Smoking,
drinking, eating, the playing of radios, and loud boisterous
behavior is not allowed on the bus. Failure to comply with
the aforementioned rules may result in the passenger(s) being
evicted fromthe bus. The Middletown Transit District reserves
the right to refuse service to anyone under for just cause.
Examples: persons intoxicated, under the influence of drugs,
objectionable behavior, no animals, etc.
Shirts
and shoes required.
Transfers
are issued free of charge when requested by the passengers
upon boarding. Your transfer must be used for the next scheduled
connection (based upon the time marked on the transfer) at
the first point where the routes intersect.
During
periods when severe weather and road conditions exist it may
become necessary for MAT to curtail or suspend service.

Baby carriages, strollers, and collapsible
shopping carts are allowed on the bus when space permits.
Persons with carriages should go to the rear of the bus where
the aisle is the widest. Children must be removed from strollers
and carriages.
Our buses are equipped with wheelchair
lifts and ramps that can be used by any passenger with a wheelchair,
walker, crutches, or other mobility aid.
1. When the platform has come
to a firm stop on the pavement, back your wheelchair onto
the lift and lock your brakes.
2. A safety barrier will lock
into place on the lifts to make sure your chair will not roll
back, even if the brake fails.
3. When you reach the interior
of the bus and the lift stops, unlock your brakes and move
to the wheelchair securement area. Your driver will secure
the chair.

For a safe and secure trip when you bring
your bike on a MAT bus, please follow these procedures.

you plan to load or unload your bike. The driver may not see
you standing in front of a bus and pull away from the curb.

the curbside of the bus. The driver may not see you if you
approach and load from the bus' left side.

may want to lock the tire on your bike before loading. MAT
is not responsible for stolen bikes. Try to sit up front to
watch your bike.
